Ottoman Bridges of Krujë
Five centuries of stonework, hidden in the valleys below the castle.
Ottoman Bridges Walk
Below the castle and the bazaar, the valleys around Krujë hide some of the most beautiful and least-visited Ottoman-era stone bridges in Albania. Built without mortar, held together solely by the logic of the arch, these structures have quietly outlasted the empire that built them.
Your guide will lead you on a gentle loop through the lower hillsides, connecting two or three of these bridges along walking paths that locals still use daily. At each bridge you'll hear the history of who built it, why it was placed there, and the stories that have attached themselves to the stones over generations.
The walk is easy and unhurried, designed to feel more like a local outing than a guided tour. It pairs well with the Old Bazaar visit and works for all fitness levels.
